![]() ![]() Dalton may have been a little humorless, but I feel things more with him than Moore or Brosnan. This is what I love about the way Dalton (and Craig) play Bond he's a more real, more vulnerable character. That was Fleming's Bond – a man who drank to diminish the poison in his system, the poison of a violent world with impossible demands. ![]() "Unlike Moore, who always seems to be in command, Dalton's Bond sometimes looks like a candidate for the psychiatrist's couch – a burned-out killer who may have just enough energy left for one final mission. From Dalton's Wikipedia page, a quote from Steven Jay Rubin from The Complete James Bond Movie Encyclopaedia (1995): Directed by Martin Scorsese, Casino is a thrilling drama that takes us deep into the world of Las Vegas casinos, mafia and greed. The movie stars three accomplished actors: Robert De Niro, Sharon Stone, and Joe Pesci. I don’t even think Casino is very good, much less comparable to Goodfellas. We get bogged down in a hackneyed, failed love story, and it kills the film. Casino doesn’t have the same pacing, the scenes that stand out are shrill Sharon Stone breakdowns. No mention of Timothy Dalton? Seems like many people don't like him, but his Bond is so much more in the vein of the current Bond - I think he was before his time (and his films aren't 'fun' in the way that even Craig's films are), but License to Kill and The Living Daylights are two of my favorite Bond films. As the name suggests, the 1995 movie Casino is set in the world of gambling and casinos. I think it’s one of the best movies ever made. ![]()
